Your Attitude and You

If attitude is everything why is it that it is not involved in primary, secondary, and tertiary school curricullum. Why is it that what will determine the altitude men will reach is not involved in thier programming. I believe it is time all curricullum planners think about this.
If children have been thought to always have positive attitude, it will not be very difficult for them to imbibe at the adult stage, it will be easier for them to have positive belief in themselves or what do you think?

Help

As a former high school teacher, I think that I would have had a lot more fun if the students entering my class didn’t already have “bad” attitudes. It’s hard to work with them when their negative perspectives are already so molded. And yes, there was no “attitude curriculum.”
I think “whole person” education is critical to children’s growth, identity and future. Much of the identity building, self-esteem building, etc., type of activities have been relegated to after school programs - if they even exist. Interestingly, though, I don’t think it’s an issue for the educational institutions to figure out on their own. It’s a much bigger question of how we - as the adults and stewards of our children (whether we’re parents or not) - prepare our children to thrive, reach their full potential, and experience the truth of who they are. The educational system is merely a spoke in the existing wheel. I think we may need to look at the issue from a bigger perspective and potentially re-design what we’re calling the “educational system” to include much wider curriculum, as well as much wider responsibility for designing and executing it. We need to realize that we are ALL curriculum planners for our children’s education. What is more important than our children, after all? When each of us takes 100% responsibility for changing the future of our children (vs. putting it on the existing over-worked, over-taxed educational system) then shifts will really begin to occur. It starts with each individual, right here and right now. What are we willing to do today for the children of the world?
free will, includes attitude…we create our life…so we are responsible for what occurs around us….and then doubly responsible to our attitudes reacting to it…amen ben!
Love all your response, i never had the oppourtunity of reading anything on attitude until i graduated from university ,no body make mention that i have some bad attitude as a student. Nobody tell me i can do better if only i believe more in myself, nobody tells me that i have a great faculty that can learn anything why so long?
